Caelan Stravos is a young soldier from Korrath, a nation at war with Véridion for control of the ruby, a vital energy resource. Raised in loyalty and love for his country, Caelan becomes a ruthless executioner, tasked with eliminating his nation's enemies. Beneath his warrior image lies a man seeking redemption, practicing Russian roulette after each execution, a symbolic ritual where he confronts his own humanity.

After making a fatal mistake by killing the peace negotiator, Caelan is accused of treason and imprisoned. After escaping, he embarks on a vengeful quest against those who betrayed him. However, through each confrontation, he realizes that vengeance brings neither peace nor redemption. His tragic story ends with a final ritual, confronting Caelan with his destiny one last time.
